Acting within its legally prescribed competence^[1] to monitor the implementation of laws concerning the prohibition of discrimination and to recommend measures to public authorities and other persons for achieving equality and protection against discrimination, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality issues to the City of Bor the following

RECOMMENDATION OF MEASURES FOR ACHIEVING EQUALITY AND PROTECTION AGAINST DISCRIMINATION

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality recommends that the City of Bor:

– If the resettlement of families from the “Zmajevo” (“Brezonik”) settlement in Herderova Street in Bor is not planned, ensure, as soon as possible, the provision of communal infrastructure and adequate housing conditions without safety and health risks, as well as equal systemic access regarding the registration of permanent residence at the Bor Centre for Social Work, bearing in mind the importance of possessing personal identification documents for the exercise of all rights and access to services;

– If the resettlement of residents from this settlement is planned, act in accordance with the Law on Housing, anti-discrimination regulations and international standards and guidelines for the resettlement of citizens from informal settlements, and carry out the rehousing process in cooperation with and with the active participation of the residents of this settlement, respecting their needs and their right to participate in decision-making.

The City of Bor shall inform the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality of the measures undertaken to implement this recommendation within 30 days from the date of receipt of the recommendation of measures for achieving equality.

In accordance with the law, no appeal or any other legal remedy is permitted against this recommendation of measures for achieving equality.
