Acting within its legally prescribed competence^[1] to act upon complaints concerning violations of the provisions of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination, to issue opinions and recommendations, and to impose measures prescribed by law, pursuant to Article 33, paragraph 1, item 2 of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, Nos. 22/09 and 52/21), regarding the complaint submitted by A.A. from …, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality issues the following

OPINION

In the proceedings concerning the complaint submitted by A.A. from … against the Centre for Social Work … on the grounds of discrimination based on disability and political belief, the provisions of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination were not violated.

However, acting within its legally prescribed competence to issue recommendations of measures to public authorities and other persons for achieving equality and protection against discrimination, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, pursuant to Article 33, paragraph 1, item 9 of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination, issues to the Centre for Social Work … the following

RECOMMENDATION OF MEASURES FOR ACHIEVING EQUALITY AND PROTECTION AGAINST DISCRIMINATION

– To consider, in cooperation with the Municipality of …, when the conditions are met, the possibility of employing A.A. in accordance with her educational background and professional qualifications.

In accordance with the law, no appeal or any other legal remedy is permitted against this recommendation of measures for achieving equality.
