The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, met with representatives of SUBNOR, with whom she discussed their activities aimed at fostering anti-fascism and the possibilities of further cooperation. At a time when we are faced with growing hate speech, the relativization of Nazism and fascism, as well as the denial of victims from the Second World War, it is important to more actively promote the anti-fascist values, which are rightly part of Serbian heritage.
Serbia is one of the few countries that does not share the growing trend of anti-Semitism, xenophobia, and racism, and one of the reasons for this is the great tribulation of the Serbian people in both world wars. However, isolated incidents show that it is necessary to pay more attention to the education of young people, but also to the fostering of a culture of remembrance of victims and tribulation – Commissioner Janković said, adding that the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality will support every fight for justice and fairness, as part of the fight for the freedom of each individual.
The President of SUBNOR Serbia, General Vidosav Kovačević, presented Brankica Janković with a certificate of gratitude for her contribution to the development and preservation of the anti-fascist struggle in Serbia.
