Reaction to the cartoon in the NIN weekly

The cartoon published in the new issue of NIN in which a comparison is made with Adolf Hitler is inappropriate and disturbing, even from the point of view of the right to freedom of artistic expression, especially bearing in mind that it is a comparison with someone who is a symbol of the greatest suffering of people in the past century, and taking into account our historical context, points out the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković.

Various announcements, insults, disparagements, labelling of people and calls for further divisions that are frequent in the public space do not in any way contribute to calming the heightened tensions, assesses the Commissioner, and states that at the current moment, in which we as a society and state are found, all actors on the public and political scene must make the maximum effort to find a minimum of tolerance and understanding.
