Women are the most important support to women, and if each of us, who has the privilege to motivate, empower and move to action at least one woman with their position and experience, it would be a success of the whole society, said the Commissioner Brankica Janković at Fruška Gora, at the Women Leaders’ Summit, which is being held for the third time with the topic “Future is Now”.
At the Summit, which gathered over 200 women from the entire region, the Commissioner, chairing the panel “How to remove obstacles to women’s empowerment”, said that no society, especially such a small one as ours, has the luxury of renouncing anyone. Half of our society comprises women and it is the duty of everyone, both men and women, to empower each other and enable everyone to reach their full potential.
At the same time, while the Women Leaders’ Summit is being held near the European Capital of Culture, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality is participating in the conference “Combating discrimination in Europe: How national equality bodies can respond to the challenge within the framework of the French presidency over the EU”.
The conference in Paris is organized jointly by the French Defender of Rights (Le Défenseur des droits) and the European Network of Equality Bodies, of which Serbia is a full member.
