Commissioner at the presentation of research on socially responsible business

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, participated in the conference on the occasion of the presentation of the research “Socially responsible business in the service of women’s empowerment”, which was conducted for the needs of the Trag foundation.

The Commissioner pointed out that visible progress has already been achieved and that there is a willingness of companies in Serbia to continue working on achieving gender balance, and that research as the one presented can be a guide in which direction to work to further improve the position of women in the labor market. She pointed out that she is encouraged by the fact that employers are increasingly hiring women over 45, but that there is still a lot of room for improvement, which is why it is necessary to create an encouraging environment for companies. In order to achieve even better results, it is necessary to conduct education and establish good cooperation between the businesses, institutions, and the civil sector, where it is important to highlight the role of the media in breaking gender prejudices, concluded Janković.

The report “Socially responsible business in the service of women’s empowerment” was presented by Biljana Dakić Đorđević from the Trag Foundation, and in addition to Commissioner Janković, Sanja Popović Pantić from the Association of Business Women, Dragana Radošević from the Association All for All, and Vuk Vuković from the Katalist Foundation, which conducted this research, participated in the discussion.
