Commissioner at the panel discussion regarding the upcoming EU strategy for Western Balkans

Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic attended a panel discussion “From Estonian to Bulgarian presidency of EU Council: New flywheel for the policy of enlargement?”, held in the premises of EU Info Center.

Head of EU Delegation in Serbia Sam Fabrizi stressed that the attention of EU in the following year will be focused to Western Balkans and that it is very important for Serbia to use the political momentum and upcoming events, starting with the adoption of the Enlargement Strategy of EU, in February. He emphasized that the key words in the following period will be: enlargement, optimism, credibility and interest.

It was discussed about the extension of implementation of reforms in Serbia, opening of new chapters for accession to EU, results that were achieved during the Estonian presidency, as well as the priorities of Bulgarian presidency of EU Council in the first half of 2018.

Other speakers at the panel discussion were Ambassador of Estonia in Serbia Daniel Erik Schaer, Ambassador of Bulgaria in Serbia Radko Vlajkov, chief negotiator for the accession of the Republic of Serbia to the EU prof. Dr. Tanja Miscevic, Member of the European Parliament Tanja Fayon and President of Managing Board of Center for European Policies Srdjan Majstorovic.
