Regarding the publication in the media about the “unprofessional and discriminatory behavior” of the security protocol services at the airports “Konstantin Veliki” in Niš and “Morava” in Kraljevo towards women with hijab, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, invited the Meshihat of the Islamic Community to contact the Institution of the Commissioner for protection of equality and file a complaint if they believe that discrimination has occurred.

“Serbia is the state of all its citizens, regardless of national or religious affiliation, where everyone has the right to equal treatment and legal protection. Therefore, I call on all those, in this case the Meshihat of the Islamic Community, who believe that their rights have been violated, to contact us as the competent institution for the protection of equality, so that we can determine possible violations of the law in a procedure regulated by law”, says Brankica Janković.
