WARNING TO THE PUBLIC ON THE ATTACHING OF YELLOW RIBBONS ON SLEEVES BY CITIZENS OPPOSING VACCINATION

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, warns that citizens who oppose the vaccination against Covid 19 are insulting and belittling the victims of the Holocaust by attaching yellow ribbons on sleeves. It is extremely inappropriate to relate one of the greatest tragedies of the past and the millions of Jews, but also members of other nationalities killed during the Second World War, to opposition to vaccination. This shows not only the absence of any respect for the victims of fascism, but also the lack of awareness of what such a message means.
The protests in front of the doctors’ apartments due to the views they expressed as experts or members of the crisis staff are also worrying, because this endangers their safety. The Commissioner concludes that the death threats against virologist Milanko Šekler and the inadmissible insulting of epidemiologists Predrag Kon and Branislav Tiodorović need to be especially condemned.
