Commissioner held a training and awarded diplomas to representatives of civil society organizations

Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic held a final training aimed to strengthening of civil society organizations capacities in area of protection against discrimination and awarded diplomas to the attendees. Representatives of 16 civil society organizations that deal with protection of human rights from whole Serbia attended this three-day training.

Civil society organizations, whose activities contribute to protecting of human rights and improvement of equality of members of sensitive social groups, stand as important partner to our institution, stressed Commissioner Jankovic. She reminded that Strategic Plan of Commissioner 2016-2020 foresees creation of conditions for suppression of the most common types of discrimination as a separate goal, while providing of expert support to civil society organizations is among important activities aimed to achieve this goal.

Training was conducted with support of Good Governance Fund of The United Kingdom Government, within a project “Strengthening capacities of institutions and organizations in Serbia, aimed to adequate implementation of the legislative in area of human rights and prohibition of discrimination”.
