The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Milan Antonijević, and representatives of the Swiss Cooperation Office visited the municipality of Trstenik, where they had the opportunity to become more closely acquainted with the activities carried out with this municipality within the program “PRO – Local Governance for People and Nature”. This also includes the establishment of the Resource Centre for Intergenerational Cooperation, a model being piloted by the United Nations Population Fund and the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality. During the visit, they discussed this with representatives of the local self-government and the President of the Municipality of Trstenik, Milena Turk.
Resource Centers for Intergenerational Cooperation represent an innovative model of local governance developed with the aim of strengthening the capacities of local self-governments in Serbia to respond to the demographic changes they are facing.
The Resource Centre in Trstenik is one of three pilot centers in Serbia, alongside Pirot and Svilajnac.
