In the proceedings following the complaints of the Association A11 – Initiative for Economic and Social Rights and parents against the “Vlada Obradović Kameni” preschool institution, due to discrimination against three children who were not enrolled in this preschool institution, the Commissioner issued an opinion that the “Vlada Obradović Kameni” preschool institution violated the provisions Article 22 in connection with Article 25 of the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination.

The preschool institution was recommended to remove the consequences of discriminatory treatment and take immediate measures and activities to ensure that children attend the preschool institution in the Obrež, i.e. Pećinca facility, as well as to send a written apology to the parents of the children on whose behalf the complaint was filed, and to take care in the future that within its regular jobs and activities it does not violate legal regulations on the prohibition of discrimination.

Given that the Preschool “Vlada Obradović Kameni” did not act on the recommendation even after the warning within the legal term of 30 days, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, following the Law, informs the public about it.
