‘’Strengthening Local Antidiscrimination Capacities and Institutional Capacities of the CPE’’
Grant Agreement SRB-17/0015 CPE
The project ‘’Strengthening Local Antidiscrimination Capacities and Institutional Capacities of the CPE’’ (agreement number SRB-17/0015 CPE), funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be implemented in the period from December 2017 until December 2019.
The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Ms Brankica Jankovic and the Norwegian Ambassador in Belgrade H.E. Arne Sannes Bjornstad (for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs), signed the Grant Agreement between the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality regarding the implementation of the project ‘’Strengthening local antidiscrimination capacities and institutional capacities of the CPE’’. The goals of the project are improvement of human and minority rights and social inclusion of marginalized groups in the Republic of Serbia, and reducing the number of discrimination cases before local municipality organs and public institutions at local and central level.
Through this project, technical capacities and competences of the CPE for reporting will be strengthened through improved internal data base and redesigned web site. Also, the survey – Attitude of Public Administration Representatives towards Discrimination in Serbia will be conducted.
Capacities of local authorities and public administration to recognize and prevent discrimination cases in their work will be improved. The trainings will be conducted and the network of the local contact points will be created. Exchange of good antidiscrimination practices at the local level will be established, and the project will support the publishing of innovated Manual for identifying cases of discrimination against public authorities.
The public awareness of discrimination issues, especially at the local level, will be raised through the media promotion of the CPE work, supported by the representatives of the local self-governments, local public institutions and organs, and influential individuals.
The effort of the local self-governments to combat discrimination by implementation of the concrete activities will be recognized by the CPE jury and awarded by the Equality logo, according to the criteria established during the project.
