On the initiative of the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, a working meeting was held regarding the problems that transgender people have when entering a name change in the registers in order to harmonize it with their gender identity. At the meeting, which was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Family Care, the City Administration – Department of Registers, and civil society organizations Geten and Kolektiv Talas TIRV, the possibilities for overcoming problems in practice and ensuring the implementation of the recommendations given by the Commissioner were discussed.

It was also concluded that it is necessary to engage everyone in raising awareness about the standards of respect for human rights and the position of transgender people.
