Acting within the legally prescribed competence to monitor the implementation of laws concerning the prohibition of discrimination and recommend measures to public authorities and other persons to achieve equality and protection against discrimination, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality issues this

RECOMMENDATION OF MEASURES FOR ACHIEVING EQUALITY AND PROTECTION AGAINST DISCRIMINATION

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality recommends that the City of Belgrade take all necessary measures and activities within its competence to ensure equalization of the position of children attending a preschool established by the City of Belgrade and children forced to attend a private preschool due to insufficient capacity of the institutions founded by the City of Belgrade, as follows:

– in terms of disproportionate transfer of economic burden for periods of absence in case of illness of children attending public preschools and those who have to attend private preschools due to insufficient capacity of public institutions founded by the City of Belgrade, as well as in terms of control and supervision over these institutions ;

– subsidizing the stay of the third child in a preschool institution in cases when the child, due to lack of places in institutions founded by the City of Belgrade, was unable to attend such an institution;

The City of Belgrade will inform the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality about the measures taken in order to implement this recommendation, within 30 days from the day of receiving the recommendation of measures for achieving equality.

In accordance with the law, no appeal or any other legal remedy is allowed against this recommendation of measures for achieving equality.
