Brankica Janković, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality met in Vienna with Erwin Buchinger, Ombudsman for Equal Treatment of Persons with Disabilities of the Republic Austria. Commissioner Janković and Ombudsman Buchinger discussed the position of persons with disabilities and agreed to work on their further improvement.

During this study visit to Austria, Commissioner Janković also met with the representatives of Austrian Ombudsman for Equal Treatment, Constanze Pritz-Blazek and Susanne Prisching, and discussed the processing of claims and mediation.

During the visit to Gratz, Commissioner had a meeting with President of Provincial Assembly of Styria, Bettina Vollath, while the main topic at the meeting with representatives of Styrian Anti-Discrimination Office was acting upon recommendations of independent bodies.

On the final day of visit to Austria, the Commissioner had meetings with leading representatives of Institute “Ludwig Bolzmann”, as well as with representatives of Litigation Association of NGOs Combating Discrimination, and talked about cooperation modalities between the civil sector and bodies for the protection against discrimination.
