Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Milan Antonijević met with Anita Senk-Pajić, Chargée d’Affaires of the Embassy of Poland, to discuss the institution’s most important activities aimed at promoting equality.
The meeting focused on the rights of women, young people and national minorities, as well as mechanisms for protection against discrimination, with both sides exchanging examples of good practices in this field. On this occasion, Antonijević emphasized that a special report on the position of national minorities is being prepared and that representatives of the Commissioner’s institution are visiting all national minority councils in Serbia to gain firsthand insight into the situation on the ground.
Antonijević and Senk-Pajić agreed that the work of independent equality institutions in democratic societies plays a crucial role in ensuring respect for the human rights and dignity of all citizens, particularly those at greater risk of discrimination.
