Contest for the older people best travel story „Dragan’s award“ organized by Association “Strenght of friendship“ Amity was held for the third year in a row.

Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, complimented the engagement of older people and said that dominant image of people in that age is unfortunately – „we are old and expensive“, with rare exceptions. She said that promotion of equality is very important, even more important than sanctioning because of discrimination.

Contest goal is to promote active aging and to create space for exchange of experiences, knowledge, beauty and challenges of aging and wisdom of elderly, said Nadežda Satarić, President of Amity Managing Board.

There were 15 awards in five different categories proclaimed in Belgrade City Library, with as much as 192 works applied for the contest, which is significantly more than in previous years.

First place in category “Woman’s travel stoy” is won by Jelena Lopušina from Zemun, while in category “Travel story from Serbia” winner was Dimitrije Jančić from Belgrade. Laureate for “Travel song” was Ljubomir O. Vujović from Belgrade.

At literary gathering in Belgrade City Library a publication “Travel through time” was promoted, with 15 travel stories written by awarded authors in five categories, as well as 15 specially complimented persons in five categories.
