Assistant Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Jelena Kotević and Adviser Milan Nikolić held a meeting with Aleksandar Jovanović, a representative of the Vojvodina Roma Centre, regarding the launch of a project aimed at empowering the Roma community.

The focus of this project, which is being implemented in cooperation with the European Roma Rights Centre and with the support of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, is to improve access to protection against discrimination directly in Roma settlements.

The aim is to improve the recognition of discrimination, inform members of the Roma community about protection mechanisms, and encourage citizens to exercise their right to protection by submitting complaints to the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality.
