AWARD COMPETITION
“BRIDGE OF UNDERSTANDING – INTERGENERATIONAL SOLIDARITY”
On the occasion of celebrating October 1, the International Day of Older Persons, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality is announcing a competition for the best literary work, artwork, and photography on the topic “BRIDGE OF UNDERSTANDING – INTERGENERATIONAL SOLIDARITY”.
Elementary school 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students from the Republic of Serbia can apply for the competition and express their opinion on the given topic that age does not have to and should not be an obstacle to a dignified and quality life, and thus contribute to combating discrimination against the elderly in our society.
An expert jury will decide on the works. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each of the categories. The results of the competition will be published on the eve of the International Day of Older Persons on the Internet presentation of the Commissioner www.ravnopravnost.gov.rs.
COMPETITION DIRECTIONS
The deadline for submission of works is September 20, 2022.
Each student can send up to three (3) works from each category.
The works must be original, independently produced, and submitted in accordance with the instructions for each category.
The works are not returned, and the organizer reserves the right to use the works in campaigns to promote equality, as well as to reproduce them in the press.
CATEGORIES
- Literary work – first, second and third prizes
- Artwork – first, second and third prizes
- Photography – first, second and third prizes
- LITERARY WORK from 500 to 1500 characters including spaces (does not include the header with the author’s information) in A4 format in Times New Roman font, space between lines 1.5)
Share with us your opinion on whether it’s acceptable not to respect the elderly in some situations. If you know some examples when people from your environment denied a right, showed disrespect, or even were rude to some people just because they are older, write your opinion about it and suggest how it can be changed and prevented.
On the literary work itself, in the header, state the name, surname, class, and department of the student, the name of the school, the city, as well as the mobile phone number and email address of the contact person (teacher, school director, or parent of the student).
The work sent as an attachment in the e-mail must be named exclusively as follows: LR, underscore, first name of the author of the work, underscore, last name of the author of the work, underscore, grade of the author of the work, underscore, city, period, DOC ( example: LR_petar_petrovic_VII3_ pozarevac.DOC)
Papers should be sent exclusively electronically to the email address: poverenik.literarnirad@yahoo.com. Email title/Subject: “Competition for Literary Work 2022”.
- ARTWORK
Artwork is delivered in A3 format, made using a technique of your choice. Works drawn in computer programs (CorelDraw, Microsoft Draw, Open Office Draw…) will also be taken into account.
Artworks must be sent in the following way:
On the back of the artwork, state the name, surname, class, and department of the author of the work, school name, and city, as well as the mobile phone number and email address of the contact person (parent, teacher, or school director).
Works should be sent exclusively by regular mail to the address: Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Bulevar kralja Aleksandra 84/4, 11000 Belgrade, with the indication “Competition for artwork 2022”.
- PHOTOGRAPHY
Photos can be black and white or in color, taken with a mobile phone or camera. Photo format: JPG. Professional photographs will not be considered.
The photo that is sent as an attachment in the e-mail must be named exclusively as follows: PHOTO, underscore, name of the author of the work, underscore, last name of the author of the work, underscore, grade of the author of the work, underscore, city, period, JPG (example: FOTO_petar_petrovic_VII3_ pozarevac.JPG)
In the body of the email, state the name, surname, class, and department of the student, name of the school, city, as well as the name, surname, and mobile phone number and email address of the contact person (teacher, school principal, or student’s parents).
It is mandatory to submit the signed consent of all persons in the photo (the form is attached) with the photo so that the photo can be published publicly.
