The team of the Faculty of Law of Belgrade University is the winner of the 7th traditional Moot Court competition, a simulation of trial in the field of protection against discrimination, organized by Commissioner for Protection of Equality, with the support of Open Society Foundation Serbia. A team from the Faculty of Law of Nis University won the second place, while the third place belongs to the team, also from the Faculty of Law of of Belgrade University.
Commissioner for the Protection of Equality is Brankica Janković congratulated the winners and said that she was glad that future lawyers found inspiration to participate in this competition every year, thus showing a willingness to work on improving knowledge in the domain of anti-discrimination law and the development of a culture of human rights. The goal of the competition is to contribute to the development of legal education in this area, as well as to the improvement of the equality in the Republic of Serbia, stressed Janković. Dean of the Faculty of Law in Nis Goran Obradović also attended the awards ceremony and thanked the Commissioner helping new generations to prepare better for the future challenges.
Students Dunja Simić, Ivana Vasić and Milica Milanović, were declared the winners, in accordance with the results of the written work. The second-placed team consisted of Andjela Dikić, Katarina Momirović and Aleksandar Arsić, and in the third place team consisted of Milan Minić, Milica Lukic and Boris Moljevic. The trial simulation began in January 2020, but all the activities were not fully realized due to the pandemic, which is why they were postponed for this year.
