Regular Annual Report for 2017 presented to the National Assembly Board for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality

Commissioner Brankica Jankovic presented Regular Annual Report of Commissioner on the situation in area of the protection of equality for 2017 to the members of the Board for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality, at the session in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. She introduced MPs with key data from the Report, as well as with challenges in the achieving of equality. The greatest number of complaints in 2017 was submitted because of discrimination on grounds of disability, age and sex, followed by nationality and other grounds. Regarding the social relations in which complaints were most commonly submitted, the area of work and employment is still at the first place, according to the number of submitted complaints, while special part dedicated to recommendation for suppression of discrimination and improvement of equality was also presented.

Members of the Board stressed that Report contains overall review of the condition and relevant data, which may be of significance for further creation and improvement of public policies, and also of the great benefit for MPs work. President of the Board for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Meho Omerovic was presiding the session.
