“Girls, I want you to be aware that every one of you is special, as well as every girl in our country and in the world, and has the power that nobody can take away, but you should not forget this when you grow up” said Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic on the occasion of International Girls in ICT Day.
Commissioner also told girls who participated in the contest “Catch the Idea”: “When you catch an idea, don’t let it go and don’t let anybody to stand on your way! You will change on this path and change the attitudes of people who think otherwise and you will win. And while you are growing up, we adults have set the goals. We made 2030 Agenda and agreed to achieve full gender equality and empower women and girls until then, because we want to leave you a better world.”
International Girls in ICT Day is organized across the globe on the last Thursday in April with aim to empower girls to choose future profession, to resist stereotypes and to follow their personal interests and talents. It was organized for the 9th time in Serbia by Association of Business Women of Serbia, with institutional support of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
