Commissioner for Protection of Equality Ms Brankica Janković strongly condemns physical attack on LGBT activist Predrag Azdejkovic and calls for prompt reaction of competent authorities.

„Verbal threats and physical assaults are absolutely unacceptable and it is the duty and the responsibility of Police to protect all citizens regardless of their sexual orientation or any other personal characteristic. I expect for perpatrators to be found and adequatly sanctioned in this case as well as in every other similiar case, as no one who threatens and physically assaults our citizens should be tolerated”, Commissioner Jankovic pointed out.

The Commissioner emphasizes that in democratic society like Serbia seeks to be, human rights and freedoms of every person must be guaranteed and fully protected.
