Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic strongly condemns very insulting comment posted by Sergej Trifunovic at the expense of RTS journalist Olivera Jovicevic and warns that frequent sexist remarks, insults and belittling of women reveal that some individuals have no sense of responsibility for publicly expressed words.

Discrimination on any grounds is prohibited by law and politicians have particular responsibility, it is impermissible for them to express any discriminatory, insulting and belittling attitudes.

Due to their profession, journalist are more exposed to groundless and inappropriate criticism, especially women journalists who are treated as sexual objects and are exposed to sexist, misogynic and insulting qualifications, Commissioner Jankovic concludes.
