“Gender-Based Violence in Emergency Situations” was the topic of a two-day training held at the Training Centre in Plandište for professionals working with migrants. One of the lecturers was Milica Simić, Independent Adviser at the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality.
The aim of the training was to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the context, as well as knowledge and practical skills for identifying, intervening and providing support in cases of gender-based violence when working with different groups of migrants.
Participants included employees of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia (KIRS), the Ministry of Health, representatives of the Red Cross, and organizations working in the field of migration in the government and civil society sectors, including those working in reception centers.
The training was implemented within the project “Promoting Evidence-Based Migration Management to Strengthen the Development Potential of Migration”, carried out by UNICEF and KIRS.
