The Commissioner for the protection of equality, Brankica Janković, discussed with the Belgrade mufti of the Islamic Community of Serbia, Mustafa ef. Jusufspahić, religious rights and freedoms, the position of women and gender-based violence, but also many other challenges that arise as a result of discrimination, intolerance and disrespect for the other and the different.

Many prejudices can be removed through open dialogue, by listening and understanding each other, and today’s extremely complex circumstances require all of us to make additional efforts to ensure respect for human rights and dignity for every human being, Janković pointed out.
