Acting within the framework of legally prescribed competencies to recommend measures to achieve equality to the public authorities and other persons (Art. 33, item 9 of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination, “Official Gazette of RS”, No. 22/2009), the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality addresses to the Republic Health Insurance Fund the following

RECOMMENDATION ON MEASURES TO ACHIEVE EQUALITY

1. The Republic Health Insurance Fund will, without delay, take all necessary measures to ensure that employed women planning a family, pregnant women and women who gave birth, up to twelve months after delivery, who have the status of insured persons on the basis of employment, and whose employer does not pay contributions for compulsory health insurance, are insured on the basis of insurance for maternity planning, pregnancy and childbirth.
2. The Republic Health Insurance Fund will inform the Equality Protection Commission of the measures to be taken for acting upon this recommendation, within 30 days from the date of receipt of the recommendation.
