Acting within the framework of legally prescribed competencies to recommend measures to achieve equality to the public authorities and other persons (Art. 33, item 9 of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination, “Official Gazette of RS”, No. 22/2009), the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality addresses to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia the following

RECOMMENDATION ON MEASURES TO ACHIEVE EQUALITY

1. The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia will, without delay, take all necessary measures to ensure that women planning a family, pregnant women and women who gave birth, up to twelve months after delivery, realize the health insurance right on this basis even in situations where they have insurance on some other basis, but they do not realize it in practice, because the taxpayer of compulsory health insurance contributions does not execute the obligation to pay contributions.
2. The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia will notify the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality of the measures to be taken for acting upon this recommendation, within 30 days from the date of receipt of the recommendation.
