Acting within the statutory competence[1] to monitor the implementation of the laws on the prohibition of discrimination and recommend measures for achieving equality and protection against discrimination to the public authorities and other persons, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality refers to media outlets the following
RECOMMENDATION OF MEASURES FOR ACHIEVING EQUALITY AND PROTECTION AGAINST DISCRIMINATION
The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality recommends that the media outlet:
– when reporting and publishing texts and articles about the Slovak national minority, take care that these contents do not advocate or support prejudices and other social patterns of behavior that are based on stereotypes, and especially that these contents do not use expressions and phrases that insult the dignity of Slovak women and men, e.g. such as using the term “Zuska”.
The media outlet will inform the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality about the measures taken in order to implement this recommendation, within 30 days from the day of receiving the recommendation of measures for achieving equality.
No appeal or any other legal remedy is allowed against this recommendation of measures for achieving equality, in accordance with the law.
