Acting within the statutory competence[1] to monitor the implementation of laws concerning the prohibition of discrimination and to recommend measures to public authorities and other entities for achieving equality and protection against discrimination, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality addresses SOKOJ – Organization of Music Authors of Serbia the following
RECOMMENDATION OF MEASURES FOR ACHIEVING EQUALITY AND PROTECTION AGAINST DISCRIMINATION
The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality recommends to SOKOJ:
- to develop ethical guidelines for the evaluation of musical content, with a special focus on prohibiting the dissemination of racist and sexist narratives, as well as content that encourages discrimination, hatred, or violence against individuals or groups based on their personal characteristics, or that constitutes harassing or degrading conduct, including sexual and gender-based harassment aimed at violating the dignity of an individual or a group of persons on the basis of their personal characteristics, especially when such conduct creates fear, or a threatening, hostile, degrading, humiliating, and offensive environment;
- to make the ethical guidelines available to the members of SOKOJ and on its official website.
SOKOJ shall inform the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality of the measures undertaken for the implementation of this recommendation within 30 days from the date of receipt of the recommendation of measures for achieving equality.
No appeal or any other legal remedy is permitted against this recommendation of measures for achieving equality, as it does not decide on the rights and obligations of legal entities
