Acting within the legally prescribed competence^[1] to monitor the implementation of laws concerning the prohibition of discrimination and to issue recommendations of measures to public authorities and other persons for achieving equality and protection from discrimination, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality issues the bank the following

RECOMMENDATION OF MEASURES FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT OF EQUALITY AND PROTECTION AGAINST DISCRIMINATION

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality recommends that the bank provide refugees, persons granted subsidiary protection, and asylum seekers with:

– access to banking products and services (such as, opening and using a basic payment account) without discrimination based on any real or presumed personal characteristic, taking into account, following the regulations, the specificity of the refugee status in terms of residence, the right to work, the appearance of the identity card and documents issued in the asylum procedure.

The bank should notify the Commissioner of the measures taken within 30 days of receiving the recommendation for measures to achieve equality.

No appeal or any other legal remedy is allowed against this recommendation for measures to achieve equality, as it does not decide on the rights and obligations of legal entities.
