Acting within the legally prescribed competence^[1] to monitor the implementation of laws concerning the prohibition of discrimination and to recommend measures to public authorities and other entities for achieving equality and protection against discrimination, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality issues the following

RECOMMENDATION OF MEASURES FOR ACHIEVING EQUALITY AND PROTECTION AGAINST DISCRIMINATION

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality recommends to the City of Požarevac:

– •    to undertake all necessary measures and activities within its competence in order to equalize the position of children attending the preschool institution founded by the City of Požarevac and those referred to private preschool institutions due to insufficient capacity of public institutions founded by the City of Požarevac, particularly with regard to the disproportionate burden of economic costs during periods of absence of children attending public preschools and those referred to private preschools because of the lack of available spaces in public institutions established by the City of Požarevac.

The City of Požarevac shall inform the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality about the measures taken to implement this recommendation within 30 days from the date of receipt of the recommendation of measures for achieving equality.

In accordance with the law, no appeal or other legal remedy is permitted against this recommendation of measures for achieving equality.
