Acting within the statutory competence from Article 33, item 9 of the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination to recommend measures for achieving equality to the public authorities and other persons, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality refers to the City of Belgrade the following

RECOMMENDATION OF MEASURES FOR ACHIEVING EQUALITY

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality recommends that the City of Belgrade:

– urgently take measures within its competence in order to remove the illegal landfill of construction materials in the Roma settlement in Čukarica and provide safe living and housing conditions in this settlement, until an adequate solution for housing is found in accordance with international standards.

The City of Belgrade will inform the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality about the measures taken in order to implement this recommendation, within 30 days from the day of receiving the recommendation of measures for achieving equality.

No appeal or any other legal remedy is allowed against this recommendation of measures for achieving equality in accordance with the law.
