Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic had a working meeting with the Ambassador of Croatia in Serbia, Gordan Bakota, with regard to prospective Croatian presidency of the Council of European Union. Commissioner and Ambassador discussed, among other, the demographic challenges that both countries are facing and the significance of equality for development of the society.

Ambassador Bakota stressed the importance of the cooperation between equality and human right institutions of Serbia and Croatia and pointed to the significance of exchanging experiences and good practice. Commissioner Jankovic emphasized the continuous good cooperation with Croatian Ombudsman and Gender Equality Ombudsman and assessed that this cooperation stands as a good example in mutual combat against discrimination, improvement of equality and respect of human rights.
