A regional meeting for the advancement of the position of women was held in Istanbul

A meeting of the Regional Coordination Committee of the Institutional Mechanisms of the Western Balkans was held in Istanbul, aiming to work together to improve equality and empower women in the countries of the Western Balkans.

The topic of the meeting was the redefinition of the Regional Action Plan and the definition of common priorities due to development and reform processes in the region’s countries, as well as adaptation to new international standards and trends. Institutional mechanisms in the region recognized the importance of joint work and exchanging experiences to improve the processes of achieving gender equality in individual countries.

The meeting in Istanbul was organized by the Agency for Gender Equality of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH with the support of UN Women.
