Commissioner for Protection of Equality, Milan Antonijvić, and Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Martijn Elgersma, met today to discuss key challenges in the field of protection against discrimination and opportunities for cooperation in this area.
During the discussion, the Commissioner presented, among other things, the plan to prepare special reports concerning discrimination on the grounds of political affiliation and the position of national minorities, as well as the strengthening of regional presence through offices in Novi Pazar and Bujanovac.
Particular attention was given to the issue of accessibility for persons with disabilities, while the National Employment Service was highlighted as a positive example, as it quickly and efficiently improved the accessibility of its services following the Commissioner’s recommendation and demonstrated how standards can be successfully raised in practice.
