The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Milan Antonijević, met with Demo Beriša, Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, to discuss the protection of human and minority rights, the suppression of discrimination, and the strengthening of gender equality as the foundations of a just and safe society.

In order to create an environment based on mutual respect and equal opportunities for all citizens, the Commissioner and the Minister emphasized the importance of social dialogue and joint action. The discussion focused on the challenges faced by groups at higher risk of discrimination, the strengthening of institutional capacities, and the improvement of the legislative framework.

Special emphasis was placed on the action plans for the realization of the rights of national minorities for the period 2026–2029, as well as on the implementation of the Strategy for the Social Inclusion of Roma Men and Women in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2022–2030.
