Commissioner on a Working Visit to the City of Kragujevac

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Milan Antonijević, visited Kragujevac, where he met at City Hall with Mayor Nikola Dašić and his associates to discuss the role of local self-government in implementing gender equality policies, the position of women at the local level, and the importance of intersectoral cooperation in creating and implementing public policies.

The meeting also addressed the protection of the rights of national minorities, violence prevention, and other topics related to advancing equality. Antonijević emphasized that it is necessary to continue cooperation in strengthening institutional capacities and empowering citizens, as well as in ensuring free legal aid.

As part of the continuation of the visit to Kragujevac, the Commissioner visited the outpatient clinic in Čumić, where preventive health check-ups for women from rural areas were organized, followed by visits to the Kragujevac Institute of Public Health and the institution Zavod Male Pčelice. Antonijević had the opportunity to become acquainted with examples of good practice in the fields of prevention, inclusion, and support to children and families, while citizens present directly shared their problems and observations with the Commissioner during the discussion.
