The Commission for Prevention and Protection from Discrimination from North Macedonia in a study visit to the Commissioner for Protection of Equality

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality and representatives of the Commissioner’s institution met with the Commission for Prevention and Protection from Discrimination from North Macedonia and the OSCE Mission in Skopje as part of their study visit to our institution.

At the meeting, Commissioner Brankica Janković, with assistant Mirjana Kecman and senior advisor Tatjana Jokanović, introduced the delegation of North Macedonia to the competencies and work mechanisms of the Commissioner’s institution to promote equality, as well as the importance of strategic litigations that the Commissioner led and won in the previous period, which is a definite indicator that the fight against discrimination is a continuous process that requires the participation of all state actors.

The meeting was attended by Ismail Kamberi, President of the Commission, Igor Jadrovski, Deputy President, Anastasija Muratovska, Ana Ugrova, and Stefan Boskovski, from the sector for action in cases of discrimination, as well as Zhaneta Poposka and Elena Brmbeska Spirkoska, representatives from the OSCE mission in Skoplje.

A dialogue was also held with representatives of civil society organizations on the topic of strategic litigation, which was attended by the delegation of North Macedonia, Nadežda Satarić from the AMITY organization, Tatjana Stojšić Petković from NOOIS, Aleksandar Jovanović from the Vojvodina Roma Center, as well as representatives of the Commissioner for protection of equality.
