Recommendation to the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the adoption of the National Strategy for Combating Discrimination

Acting within the framework of the legally prescribed competencies to monitor the implementation of the laws concerning the prohibition of discrimination and recommend to the public authorities measures to achieve equality (Art. 33, items 7 and 9 of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia” No. 22/2009), the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality gives the following


  1. In order to achieve full and effective equality in social relations, it is necessary to prepare and adopt as soon as possible the National Anti-Discrimination Strategy, which will establish comprehensive and coordinated measures and activities for the prevention and suppression of discrimination and the achievement of equality.
  2. In order to operationalize the National Anti-Discrimination Strategy, it is necessary to adopt an action plan for the implementation of planned measures and activities, with precisely defined tasks, activity holders, indicators and deadlines for implementation.
