COMMISSIONER SPOKE WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ABOUT EQUALITY

Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic gave lecture on discrimination to high school students who attend the second grade in Geodesic Technical School in Belgrade with aim to educate them about basic concept of equality and consequences that individuals or groups may suffer due unequal treatment.

Commissioner explained that respecting human rights should be above prejudices, that we must learn to tolerate differences and accept others, regardless of their protected characteristics such are sex, nationality, property status and other. Some of the topic which caused greates curiosity among high school students were the equality of men and women, as well as the goal of afirmative measures aimed to improve equality of sensitive social groups.
