Holding of this year’s Pride with slogan “Say YES” 17 years after the first one, which was unsuccessful, sufficiently show that Serbia has become more mature and tolerant society, because the security of participant has not been discussed this time, but the issues which are more important for this social community, said Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic during the parade.

She stressed that there is still need to work on the improvements of legal regulations to achieve equal legal possibilities for all citizens in our country and added that reality that surrounds us should be accepted and allow everyone to have equal rights. Serbia chose the way of progress and respecting of human rights, said Commissioner.

Same as in previous years, many representatives of state institutions, international organizations, media houses and citizens joined the members of LGBT population and activists. Commissioner Jankovic and the employees from our institution also traditionally attended the Pride.
