The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, visited the “Branko Radičević” Elementary School in Melnica, where she participated in a workshop with eighth-grade students on recognizing discrimination and the importance of exercising the right to equality.
On that occasion, they also discussed stereotypes related to gender roles, societal expectations of girls and boys, mutual understanding, socializing with children from vulnerable social groups, as well as the problem of peer violence. Part of the conversation was dedicated to the exhibition “Great Women of Serbian Culture and Science,” which the students had the opportunity to view in its virtual edition.
The workshop was held as part of the project “Education for Equality,” which is being implemented in several elementary and secondary schools in Serbia in partnership with the British Council, with the support of the British Embassy.
