Commissioner for Protection of Equality Ms Brankica Janković is warning the public that in the last few days several daily newspapers have been anouncing discriminatory, inappropriate and insulting texts and photographs of domestic and foreign female politicians, which is fully unacceptable and prohibited by the law.

This kind of scandalous contents offend the dignity of women and roughly support stereotypes in the most sensationalistic manner, additionaly photographs that follow these texts are not contextually connected to texts, but show only sexistic and humiliating treatment of female politicians.

The Commissioner Jankovic, to that end, requests for all the media to fully respect regulations and professional ethics expecting the media associations and competent authorities to react as soon as possible.
