“We honor the memory of Vesna Baur, a tireless collaborator, friend, and partner, whose strength inspired and continues to inspire all of us to change our community and society for the better,” said the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, at the gathering held on the anniversary of the death of the founder and president of the Association of Businesswomen “Nadežda Petrović.” With the event held at the Science and Technology Park in Čačak, the “Vesna Baur Days – A Mark in Time” were officially opened. Over the following month, the initiative will be marked by a series of events, particularly focused on improving the position of women in rural areas.
On this occasion, the Commissioner, together with the president of the Association of Businesswomen, Zorica Selaković, handed over work equipment to two associations from Kačulice and Gornji Milanovac, as part of a donation within the project “Empowering Women in Rural Areas of Serbia to Recognize and Respond to Discrimination and Violence,” implemented by the Commissioner in cooperation with UN Women in Serbia, with the support of the Embassy of Norway.
