Training for Youth Panel Participants on Protection from Discrimination in the Digital Environment

Digital safety is not just a matter of passwords and apps — it is a matter of dignity, equality, and justice. The internet gives us countless opportunities for learning, friendship, and creativity, but it also carries risks: misinformation, toxic comments, peer violence, and discrimination, said Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, at the beginning of a training dedicated to the topics of digital safety and discrimination in the online environment for the members of the Youth Panel of the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality.

Secondary school students from several cities across Serbia participated in creative lectures and workshops on protection from discrimination and safe navigation through the digital ecosystem, delivered by Aleksandra Petrovski and Dijana Milutinović, while Ivana Filipov from the Commissioner’s institution presented the Peer Education Program on recognizing and responding to discrimination.

The training was conducted with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria and Ambassador Christian Ebner, who greeted the panelists and emphasized that their active participation demonstrated how important this topic is for young people.
