The second cycle of training for representatives of national councils of national minorities on recognition of discrimination and protection against it, which the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality is implementing in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Serbia, began with a two-day seminar at Silver Lake.
Welcoming the participants of the seminar, Commissioner Brankica Janković pointed out that the Commissioner’s institution has had good cooperation with the national councils of national minorities for years, especially in the field of education on the mechanisms for the realization and protection of the rights of national minorities, which she also spoke about at the recently held international conference in The Hague organized by the OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities.
Through lectures and workshops, seminar participants had the opportunity to learn about the concept and forms of discrimination, the role, competencies, and practice of the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, as well as criminal-legal protection and affirmative measures to achieve equality.
