The Commissioner participated in a panel on the future of female leadership

When we talk about empowering women, it is important to emphasize that the real challenges are not only quotas but also the creation of conditions for the full participation of women in decision-making, said Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, at the panel discussion “The Future of Female Leadership: Diversity, Resilience and Vision” organized by the Chamber of Italian-Serbian Businessmen, in cooperation with the WMG Foundation and the Women on Boards Adria (WOBA) initiative.

Although women are often judged more harshly than men, the key is to ensure equal opportunities and enable women to be heard in all spheres of society. We need to work on preparing women for leadership, both in politics and in the business sector, because authentic leadership does not depend on gender but on the ability to recognize opportunities and make key decisions. Supporting initiatives like WOBA is key to empowering women’s leadership, as it enables women to acknowledge and take leading positions in all industries, said Commissioner Janković.

The panel brought together representatives of the business world, leaders, and experts dedicated to empowering women and strengthening their role in business. The key topics were the challenges and obstacles women face in leadership positions and the importance of institutional support and networking for achieving gender equality.
