In the proceeding upon the complaint filed by association Regional Info Center and GAYTEN-LGBT against Nenad Popovic, minister without portfolio in charge for innovations and technology development, because of his Twitter post, Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic issued an opinion that the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination was violated.

Along with the opinion, it was recommended to minister Popovic to publish a written apology to the members of LGBT population and to restrain in the future from giving statements, spreading ideas and attitudes which vilify members of LGBT population and support prejudices towards marginalized social groups.

Since minister Popovic did not act upon the recommendation in the legal 30 day period, even after the warning, Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic informs the public about that, in accordance with the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination.
